Pepper rooting

Start seeds indoors 7 to 10 weeks before the date you plan to put the peppers in the garden. Do not rush pepper into the garden. Transplant pepper seedlings into the garden 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost in the spring, after the soil temperature has warmed to at least 65°F (18°C). Peppers mature in 60 to 95 days, depending on the variety.

• You can grow peppers in pots or containers that are at least 12 inches (30 cm) wide and deep.
• Plant peppers in commercial potting mix.
• Choose a container with a hole in the bottom for easy draining.
• Keep the soil evenly moist.
